About

From 2020 Kingston Park Warmblood Stud has concentrated on the breeding of PURE Trakehners, primarily in Europe from 2020 and for also the Australian market.

Since 1989 Suellen and John Saals and Kingston Park Warmblood Stud have bred mainly Trakehners, but some Holsteiner and Hanoverian Warmbloods.

Kingston Park Warmblood Stud has now formed a Company in Denmark to increase its International Stallion ownership of Trakehner Verband Licenced Stallions in Europe, and also that of our Trakehner Verband Premium Classified Mares in Europe. We will continue to breed selectively in Australia, pure Trakehners with imported frozen semen.

We look forward to ongoing developments of same, and the opportunity to assist Australian Trakehner and other Warmblood Breeders to access the markets of Europe, USA, UK and other in regard to the eventual importation of ‘frozen embryos’ to Australia. We will work extremely hard with Government and Specialist Veterinarians to try to bring about this equality in access to the very very best Performance Pedigrees, for Australian Warmblood Breeding.

Our program focuses on performance horses for the Olympic disciplines of Dressage, Showjumping. The goal is to breed Warmblood ‘Equus perfectus'. These successful warmblood lines have produced some of the world’s top Olympic and International competition horses.

We concentrate on a breeding program carefully selected for pedigree, conformation, temperament and performance. The program emphasises ‘quality’, with horses having the good looks for the show ring, and the brain and temperament for training to ultimate success at any chosen discipline.

The stallions have been meticulously selected for conformation, movement, elevation, impulsion, natural temperament and excellent performance record, both personal and on bloodlines. Importation of frozen semen from top performance stallions with exceptional pedigree ensures our foals have talent and versatility to perform successfully in their competition careers.

The name of the stud, ‘Kingston Park’, is a dedication to our much loved gelding, Kingston, son of the famous Trakehner stallion Kassiber. Kingston died quietly at the ripe old age of 29 years, after spending the majority of his life (after retiring from dressage) raising foals. He remains with his family – both equine and human – buried on the property, overlooking his broodmares and their foals.
